The theory of Male Gaze was created by Laura Mulvey, this theory is that the camera will be positioned in a way that we are able to view the women's body parts for example her curves leaving us being able to see from a mans perspective. The male gaze leads to hegemonic ideologies within our society. Mulvey states that women are used for 2 functions in most films, as an erotic object for the characters within the narrative to view or as an erotic object for the spectators in the cinema to view. I don't believe that this theory really relates to my trailer however it could have some relevance, the as the monster watches his victims and we see the girls from his perspective. The strengths of this theory is that it does have a lot of relevance to today's society and males view on women as more of a sexual object than a human, it also creates awareness towards today's problems.
